Tsundere - Adj-
an anime stereotype,
usually for girls,
who switch between
two distinct personalities.
Tsun, or lovestruck,
and dere, or irritable.
What would you say
If i said I knew her?
And not only do I
Know her, I am
close to her.
The person she
is both tsun
and dere for.
She's a walking
anime character.
An everyday Haruhi.
My beloved tsundere.

Bluebird (The Maeterlinck Connection)
The bluebird is a symbol of happiness,
not to all but to some.
It flits about, flying forth
to and fro.
All about the place.
Like true happiness.
It can sometimes be found,
just by standing still.
But, to be honest,
Most often you hafta look.
Do you know where the bluebird flies?
Do you know where YOUR bluebird lies?
Sometimes, you would never know it was there,
it lies in wait, wearing a disguise,
Until you just let it pass you by.
And it goes off, and you never know you missed it.
Do you know why?
Because we are all wrapped up in our individual lives,
in our daily routines, in what "MUST" be done.
So you know what,
take the time to look.
'Cuz the bluebird is before you.

Suzumiya
Ah, Suzumiya!
How beautiful you are!
How unlike the other
mortals with whom you
must deign to mingle!
Your bright, shining eyes,
and your intriguing knowing smile!
I remember how first we met,
that first time we spoke,
how your statements
shocked me, ME, into silence.
Me from who words flow
like the waters of the Nile,
simply ceased.
Ah, Suzumiya!
How different you are!
How your interests are
not standard, by the book at all!
You have numerous, unusual friends
And yet you talk to me,
and consider me your friend!
Since you entered into my life
things have never been the same.
My routine is extra-ordinary
though you yourself don't see it.
Never again can I be called "normal"
and all because of you .
Suzumiya-chan, I owe all of it to you.

Ivory Tower
Would you believe
I never kissed a girl before?
I wonder if it is due
To the ivory tower upon which I rest?
Or maybe because out there
Exists no girl for me?

The Regret
My deepest regret
is that I did not
take her to the prom.
Sometimes I wonder,
if she regrets it too,
that I never asked her.
Whether I misread the signs
I shall never know
I do know that I regret it.
I wonder if I'm like her at all
I wonder if I'd be good for her
Or if she would be good for me.
Maybe were both too scared to say
I was falling for you.

Letdown
I liked her, I decided
And I wanted to ask her out.
I NEEDED to ask her out.
After all, the worst she could say was no.
And I did ask her out, but she didn't say no.
She said I was like her brother.
She walked away from me, I remained motionless.
How could it happen to me twice?

Jealousy
I loved her, but she was my friend.
What was I to do?
Should I confess my feelings to her?
Or should I keep them all locked up?
Which was more important to me,
her love, or her friendship?
What would happen to our mutual friends?
Would our relationship destroy our frienship?
I confessed, she shot me down
And confessed her love for our friend.
I broke, as her words sounded in my head.

Beautiful
I always thought she was beautiful,
Though she herself denies it.
You could see that she is self-conscious,
Just by looking at her pictures
It is as if she denies that she is beautiful,
but she is.

First
Do you remember your first love?
How it made you feel?
How it made you act?
Do you know how it feels,
When she rips your heart straight out of your chest
And stomps on it?

Untouchable
I fear for myself
And for her most of all
I love her, and
I know she loves me
She hovers just out of reach
Like a firefly against the darkened sky.
Who am I to catch her?

Kyon
There is this girl I like
But I cannot admit it, even to myself.
This girl I love,
But I cannot be with her.
She is incorporeal to me
Floating just out of my reach
And though I wish I could exclaim to the world
That I love her, I cannot

Silent Romeo
"Sleep will never take me,
My mind is stuck on you.
You better be laying awake
Thinking of me too."
-The Midnight Riders, Save Me Some Sugar
If I could but compare thee to a summer’s day,
Without it sounding so cliché;
If I could speak my tale of woe,
Without it sounding like a tale of silent Romeo;
For you see, it goes like this,
I am a young man, quite erudite and educated,
But I am unskilled in matters of the heart,
Essentially a novice.
But there is this girl, who I love with all my heart,
But I can never say it.
Whenever she is around, my words fail me,
And I mumble some vague reply to her spoken words.
How I wish I was a poet of Shakespeare’s caliber,
So I might write her a sonnet, so she knows how I feel,
She who may or may not have loved me,
Whom I feel I have failed.
I was not there to take her to the prom,
To dance with her, to kiss her,
To be there for her when she needed me,
That I quite regret
Now I ache inside, knowing that we are parted
By miles, physical and metaphorical.
She is probably far beyond me, and my reach.
If only I could speak to her these words.
Does she know that I exist?
That THIS is how I feel about her?
Or am I just a face in her yearbook,
Like she is to me right now?
I gaze down at the page with her name and face,
And I wonder at what might have been.
If I was but a tad braver,
If I wasn’t so fearful of her rejection?
Does she know of my poetry?
Does she know that I speak of her right now?
I wonder if I can still be with her,
If I might get a second chance to be with her.
I fear that I have rambled far too much
That I sound like a cut rate Shakespeare,
Quoting sonnets and plays,
Trying to get out what I feel.
But still I stand, a Romeo,
Silent but to her, for my cheeks turn red
And my words just die in my throat
I cannot meet her eyes

The Nightmare of Zelda: Prologue
In the land of Hyrule, there were sages which insured the safety and security of the land and people. The eldest of these sages created the Temple of Time, the resting place of the Master Sword and the entrance to the sacred realm. When the Hero of Time entered the sealed room, he unleashed a great evil, as well as a great burden. He not only gave Ganondorf the Triforce of Power which he used for evil, the hero also created multiple histories and timelines. This is why there are 2 futures, one with a flooded Hyrule, another with a Hyrule engulfed in darkness.
But there are more histories that stem from the moment he opened the sealed door. In one such alternate universe, the heroic are less so. That is the world of the Nightmare of Zelda. The Hero of Time was a like a fairy tale prince. He loved Princess Zelda very much and would do anything for her. What if, in that dimension, Ganon had tried to attack Zelda before she was sufficiently charged to seal him? What if Link had leapt into the air and pierced Ganon's heart with the Master Sword? What if, after the death of Ganon, Link had taken the Triforce of Power? What if Link, the Hero of Time, had 2 pieces of the Triforce?
Well, let us find out. As the old adage goes, absolute power corrupts absolutely...

The Nightmare of Zelda
In Zelda’s restless dreams, her nightmares, she can see the moment where everything went wrong. She can see Ganon preparing to attack her as she charges her attack, she sees Link spring into the air with the Master Sword point down. She watches this one event over and over, every single night. She tosses and turns as the Master Sword pierces Ganon’s back, the blade plunging into his heart. She watches in horror as Ganon explodes into nonexistence and the Triforce of Power is revealed. She watches as Link retrieves the Triforce of Power and it gives its power to Link.
Link escorts her from the ruins of Ganon’s castle and into Castle town. He, using his abilities as the hero of time, returns everything to the way it was when he was young. He had made everything right again, or so it seemed. For not all was right. Link possessed 2 pieces of the Triforce, Power and Courage. Link possessed almost limitless power, not at all the way it should be. After a great celebration in his honor, Link proposed to the Princess. After that feast things started going wrong. King Hyrule was found dead and Vaati the Wind Mage was found responsible. Zelda knew in her heart it was Link, but part of her didn’t want to believe it. She was happy being with him and she turned a blind eye as his tunic began turning black and gray. Zelda could no longer deny Link’s evil when some of the sages were found dead. Rauru, the last of the ancient sages; Darunia the sage of fire; Impa, Zelda’s nursemaid and the sage of shadow; and Nabooru the sage of spirit were all found murdered in the sacred realm. If it was Link, he had violated the seal of the temple of time, and would no longer be able to enter. So Zelda and Link went for a walk to Castle town. Zelda surreptitiously lead Link to the temple. Zelda could enter but Link could not.
Zelda and the 2 others who loved Link, the Zora princess Ruto and the Kokiri maiden Saria, forced him into the sacred realm. There Link would be unable to harm anyone. All of Hyrule mourned his loss and swore to remember him as a hero. Zelda would later find out that she was pregnant with Link's daughter. In another, faraway place, a girl was pregnant with a boy sealed by destiny...
In the sacred realm, Link swore vengeance on Hyrule, the Sages, and most of all Princess Zelda.
"Sleep well fair Zelda. You have earned it by defeating the villain. I just hope that in your dreams, and in your waking days, you realize that...the NIGHTMARE has just begun..."
An evil wind began to blow over Hyrule yet again, as the power in the sacred realm began his long, slow escape...

Plugged In
I feel sorry for society
Always "plugged in"
I watch people run around
With blackberrys in talon hands
Waiting for that email from work
Or that all important Facebook comment.
What has society got to now?
Is this what Da Vinci left us?
A group of hive mind technophiles?
What ever happened to comic books?
They went online and since then
Sales have plummeted.
I laugh as I watch Next Gen,
Smile as I see Locutus.
I smile 'cuz I know him.
I know him very well.
All these people with mush for brains
plugged into their devices.
Sharing thoughts over Twitter instantly.
I sit on the subway watching you.
Yes you there with the Kindle.
You never will know the feel of
a brand new book from the store.
'Cuz society is circling the drain
And only I can see it.
Everyone is plugged in.
I can see a day, not too far away,
When my children's children
Can't speak, or read real books.
It will have been taken away
by iPods and Facebook and Twitter.
When I see the Matrix now I weep.
Because it isn't science fiction,
at least it isn't any more.
I guess my name is Neo,
and I alone am not plugged in.
I have yet to bow before your
heathen gods Tom, Mark,
Jack, Bill or Larry.
I sit here at my laptop
Waiting for the endgame
'Cuz its me alone against
The population of the world.
Whatever happened to
Anonymous, that sage
poet and philosopher of long ago?
I heard that he died,
And you know what killed him?
Facebook and X-Box Live
Twitter and Myspace
I weep as I see humanity
as we are drained by sentient machines
Used as their power source.
I am no longer plugged in,
an agent of Morpheus
the watcher with 1,000 eyes.
I sit here on the Matrix (at least for now)
making this promise to the world.
"Anything is possible" and one day the
Matrix will be down. I so declare it.

Ring of Fire?
(This is inspired by Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire, Def Leppard's Rock of Ages, and Elvis Presley's All Shook Up)
It is true that "Love is a burning thing"
and yes it does"Make a firey ring"
But where did the fire come from anyway?
I digress, "Bound by wild desire. I fell
in to a burning ring of fire."
You know what I loved her so,
and my heart burned with longing.
But then I learned that she was a pyromaniac.
Now I lay in my hospital bed,
dreaming of Johnny Cash,
laughing till it hurts,
'Cuz the irony is painful
As Elvis said,
"Her lips are like a volcano and they're hot"
They were hot. So hot I got burned.
Burned by love once again.
And now I sit here humming Rock of Ages
"Burn it up, go for broke, watch the night go up in smoke..."

Death Notices
Today, February 3rd, I am sorrowful to report that the music died. The music was centuries old, and no one knows exactly when it was born. But some speculate that it died when a plane crash in Iowa ended the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. Richardson. But today, the Music was found dead in thousands of broken hearts, as thousands of fans mourned the loss of Rock and Roll's founding fathers. Don McLean reports that "We were singing dirges in the dark the day the music died." The music left behind many children, including Classical, Baroque, Rock and Roll, Heavy Metal, Pop, Folk, Hip-Hop, and Soundtrack. We know that the Music will be mourned by many, and its remains will be scattered to the four corners of the earth.
